For several years, this landmark Beverly Hills eatery was home to both young and old in search of the perfect pizza and a laid back, casual atmosphere. Beyond the entrance of the Le Grand Passage, scores of patrons sat, sipped espresso, and twirled their forks in pasta, feeling as if they were actually dining on the sidewalks of Italy. This stylish, mellow ambiance still shines at the newly owned and operated Caffe’ Roma. Agostino Sciandri, popular owner of Ago, Sortino, and Toscanova, has purchased the restaurant. Little has changed at this neighborhood spot; the charming cobblestone patio is still a great place to dine on a warm evening, the piano bar continues to bustle at night, and the friendly service, as always, pleases diners. An array of extensive antipasti, plated by Agostino himself, awaits lunch-goers in search of something salady. For the late night crowd who wish to nibble while enjoying a cigar and a nightcap, a burrata, sausage, and rapini thin-crust pizza, and a sliced rib-eye steak topped with sun dried tomatoes and parmesan await.
